
In turmoil this morning, newly acquired by HP for $ 1 billion, the Palm brand tries to relaunch with the release of a smartphone, Palm Pre Plus. Released last year on U.S. soil with a rather mixed success, the Palm Pre thus arrives in our countries in a more muscular version (left on photo-cons). The challenge is twofold for Palm brand mythical golden age of the PDA. First try to seduce the audience into a highly competitive smartphone and above the other, to go solo next operating system. Indeed, no Windows or Android Phone Series here but a house system, called WebOS.
The Pre-Plus (has anyone accused Palm risk dubious puns?) is accompanied by the Pixi, a lighter variation in price, weight and functionality. Note that the two mobiles are available from SFR in France, with 79 euro package for Pre-Plus and 39 euros for Pixi. We have played extensively with both devices, so here is our test...
